Ah… the eternal question: What if…?
What if I had chosen that instead of this?
What if I had followed my heart… or ignored it?
The answers are lost, swallowed by time.A lone figure stands beneath the glow of a flickering lamppost. An old man, his gaze distant, his thoughts elsewhere.
And then - movement. A couple drifts past him, the man walking beside a woman in a flowing red dress. They move effortlessly, unaware of the world around them, lost in a moment that feels untouched by time.
The old man watches. His eyes linger, his breath catches.
Because maybe - just maybe - the young man is him.
Maybe this is not the present and the past, but two versions of the same soul, brushing against each other in the dim glow of memory.
Or perhaps… there is no couple at all.
Perhaps it is only an echo, a vision conjured by a mind replaying the choices it never made. A love never embraced. A path never taken.
Perhaps he is only watching a life that could have been…
Imagining - What if… he had followed his heart.
