I’ve never seen exotic islands. Never wandered through jungles or set foot on the Himalayas.
I’ve never stood at the poles, nor crossed the great oceans. I’ve never traveled — not in the way most people mean it.
All my life, I stayed here.
My journeys were with you — to work, to the grocer, and back home again. My voyages were the long walks along the seashore, your hand in mine. My furthest expedition was those nights we explored each other’s bodies, sailing quietly through each other’s veins.
Now, at the end of my life, when I look back, I can only say I was a great explorer.
Every day was an adventure —from the grocer to our doorstep, and then into your arms.
And in that way, my little corner of the world became the whole wide world.
