"The Hour Between"

I found myself standing near the bus stop, not in a hurry to leave.

The day had already taken what it needed from everyone.

You could see it in the way people walked — steady, quiet, carrying more than just bags or briefcases.

Some were heading home, others moving toward something else, something waiting.

The street held the traces of it all. Golden light from the buildings stretched across the pavement, broken by footsteps, passing figures, moments that would never repeat themselves the same way again.

I watched them for a while.

No one stopped.

No one really looked around.

And yet, there was a strange comfort in that — in knowing that everyone was part of the same current, even if their destinations were different.

It wasn’t about the place.

It was about that hour… when the city exhales, and people return to themselves, step by step, under a sky that asks nothing more from them.

That was the moment I wanted to keep.
