The day has already slipped away, leaving behind a soft twilight that turns Fifth Avenue into a dream. Some evenings, New York feels like it’s holding its breath.
The city lights awaken slowly — amber, crimson, and gold — melting into one another like memories that refuse to fade.
The men walk through it quietly, their shadows stretching long, their pace unhurried.
The reflections under their feet are like echoes of their own thoughts — fleeting, warm, human. There’s no rush now — just the calm that comes when night begins to claim the streets.
The air feels different then… gentler, reflective.
I painted this moment for that brief in-between hour — the one when the city forgets to roar, and simply glows.
