Flat Iron
I have always been fascinated by this corner — where the city folds into itself, where wind tunnels through the streets and people move like shadows in the mist. The Flat Iron has always seemed to me less like a building and more like a ship — slicing through the urban fog, graceful and determined.
In this painting, I wanted to capture that fleeting stillness before the day fully wakes. The air is cool and quiet, touched by soft light reflecting off wet pavement. The city feels distant yet intimate, as if holding its breath.
The figures move slowly, half-ghosts in the haze, while the golden glow from the windows hints at warmth and life within the steel and stone. It is a portrait of New York not in motion, but in memory — the kind of moment that lives between silence and sound.
