“Down Town on White”
There are moments when the city feels suspended — not in time, but in light.
In Down Town on White, I painted New York as I sometimes feel it: weightless, as if it’s floating between reality and dream. The skyline emerges from a field of pure white, like memory taking form — sharp, vivid, and full of warmth.I wanted the contrast — the quiet surrounding the movement, the stillness cradling the noise. The white is not emptiness; it’s possibility. It’s the pause before the day begins, the breath before the city roars to life.
Every brushstroke carries that pulse — the red of ambition, the brown of resilience, the whisper of the Hudson. To me, this piece is not about buildings; it’s about energy rising from the canvas, just like New York rises from the river every morning.
